The midnight cry is something that’s a little bit distanced from His actual coming in glory. The midnight cry is the preaching of the Holy Gospel. Indeed, you are hearing it even now, “The Bridegroom comes; go out to meet Him.” Therefore, it’s utter foolishness to think that the people sitting in the pews with you will be able to spot you somehow, that their faith or that of your parents or spouse, or even the faith of your church will be enough for you. You need the oil. Go get it; buy it now. Because the admonition of the wise isn’t something that just happened at the end; it had been happening all along, even as it’s happening today. You need the oil so that the word of God will burn in your heart and burn brightly in belief.
