This is the sum and substance of the glorious and wondrous preaching of the Holy Gospel: Yes, you are a poor, miserable sinner deserving of only God’s temporal and eternal punishment. Even so, Christ has made you His own through Holy Baptism, covering you with His righteousness. There shall come a Day when all wrongs shall be made right, and we shall live and reign with Christ in glory. Until that Day, the Spirit urges you to receive Jesus’ Body and Blood here, in the Blessed Sacrament, that you may be strengthened in faith against sin and against all the wrongs that come your way.
